It has come to my attention that my buddy’s orange Scion XD had its rear window smashed-out last week. It happened sometime overnight between Tuesday 10/28 and Wednesday 10/29, right here in Scumcook Village. It appears that nothing was stolen from the vehicle, but a major nuisance nonetheless.

So, I am asking any ‘Straight out of Pembronx” readers who may have seen anything suspicious around that time last week to come forward with any info which may prove helpful. The vandalism occurred downtown in the ‘bronx, specifically in the area of Front and Main Streets near the Emerson Mills Condominium building.

If anyone is able to offer information leading to the arrest of the criminal/s responsible, I will personally donate $25 to a charitable cause of that person’s choosing. This will allow any tipsters to remain anonymous if they desire.

It is up to us, the citizens of Pembroke and Allenstown, to keep our community safe and free of vandalism. These acts of vandalism, theft and drug dealing are further depressing our collective property values, shaking our community’s sense of security, and challenging our patience. Please contact the Pembroke or Allenstown Police immediately upon witnessing any form of suspicious activity. Seriously, do it for the greater good.

And if any would-be thieves are reading this, be afraid, very afraid – the next vehicle you break into may be surveilled by a nightvision camera. Or maybe even by a few armed, angry dudes. And I promise you that we won’t call the cops…

Pembroke Police Arrest Logs: October 1 to October 31, 2009

PEMBROKE POLICE DAILY LOGS

TO PROTECT AND SERVE

OCTOBER 1, 2009 TO OCTOBER 31, 2009

Officers responded to 1,101 calls for service, including the following arrests:

FRIDAY OCT. 2

9:20 a.m.-Pembroke St., Officers Nickerson and Hanson served arrest warrant for Merrimack County Sheriffs Office on Corey Miller, 17 of Pembroke St. Pembroke, Miller was transported to the PD, processed and released to Merrimack County Sheriff;

5:20 p.m.-PD, Officer Cunha served arrest warrant for simple assault and disorderly conduct on Tyler Hutchinson, 17 of Fifth Range Rd. Parents and volunteers with horrified expressions rushed to it searching for young kids and attempting to upright the inflatable device. While some kids looked a bit spooked, not a single child was injured.

High winds became an issue throughout the afternoon, nearly knocking over the police department’s tent as well. But most kids and adults alike didn’t let the blustery conditions blow away their spirits.

Town Administrator Carol Granfield, who was wearing a T-shirt that read, “Hooksett: Voted 66th best place to live in America,” referring to the ranking by Money magazine this past summer, said she was impressed by the turnout.

“This is awesome. It’s beyond my expectations,” said Granfield, attending her first Old Home Day since becoming the town administrator in the spring. “It’s a great family event and it’s a great day for everyone to get out and enjoy the festivities.”

Carmen Perron of Hooksett said she has brought her 7-year-old son, Damian, to Old Home Day since he was 1. “He likes to see his friends. He’s a little social butterfly,” Perron said. “It’s very family oriented and you get to see people you haven’t seen in a while.”

Damian appeared excited as he was being strapped to bungee cords before jumping off a trampoline about 15 feet into the air. “Jumping very high was awesome,” Damian said afterward.

Among the dozens of tables set up by volunteer groups and area businesses was one manned by Manchester Central High School’s Key Club, a community service group that gets sponsorship from local organizations, including the Kiwanis Club. The students conducted face painting for younger children and sand art.

“It’s really rewarding,” said Jayne Kelly, 16, of Hooksett, president of the Key Club. “You can tell they’re happy when they leave.”

Other notable activities included a “Guitar Hero” contest inside the Town Hall building and the town’s food pantry holding an open house at its new location, which is also inside Town Hall.

Giant Pumpkin Weigh-off and Regatta is Oct. 17, 18

By SARAH LEBRUN

Giant pumpkins return to Goffstown on Oct. 17 and 18 for the annual Giant Pumpkin Weigh-off and Regatta. According to Robbie Grady, Goffstown Main Street director, more than 5,000 people attend this event annually.

The weekend is packed with various events, including a giant pumpkin weigh-off, pumpkin catapulting, live entertainment, pumpkin decorating, and of course, the giant pumpkin regatta.

Last year’s weigh-off winner was Geoff Peirce of New Boston, with a pumpkin weighing in at 1,295 pounds.

“The giant pumpkin growers have had kind of an iffy year (this year) because of the rain in June,” said Grady. “But the end of the season turned bookout well for them.”

Each year, giant pumpkin growers also donate gourds to the Main Street program for the regatta.

“It’s very generous of them to give us pumpkins,” said Grady. “We sure to appreciate it.”

Last year’s regatta winner was Chief Patrick Sullivan of the Goffstown Police Department, who will defend his title in this year’s contest.

Sullivan said his strategy for winning the race was speed. “You have to keep your eye on the prize first,” said Sullivan, “then go back and fight the water fight.”

Sullivan was also confident he would win the race again this year. “You would think the fire chief would have a better chance (of winning) with the water he deals with all the time, but he’s not so good with the water,” Sullivan laughed. “I’ll win!”

Besides the Police Department, other regatta partcipants include Rob Bennett of Neighborhood News, Chief Richard O’Brien of the Goffstown Fire Department, selectmen Chairman Scott Gross of the Goffstown Board of Selectmen, Main Street President Karen Henderson, Kimberly Peace of the Goffstown Conservation Commission, Mike French of the Rotary, Brian Hanson of Granite State Environmental, Mike Lee of Mountain View Middle School and Lori Davis of the Goffstown Lions Club.

Other events this year include a New England Patriots cheerleaders meet and greet at NY Pizza and Calzones, where Patriots cheerleaders will sell and sign their calendars.

Goffstown Main Street will also offer free pumpkin masks at the Main Street booth.

I hope not, he's an idiot with a willing "news" paper enhancing his stupidity. Add to that the influence that this headline and accompanying picture will have on the High-Schoolers seeing it, and you have a conspiracy of police, city, newspapers and drug dealers stealing (dumbing down) another generation's minds.

Will the police do their jobs, or has the Keene City Council become the new arbiter of justice?

Does Parsells do them proud? Soon I will not be allowed to write these opinions and my radio will go silent. The churches will continue their attempts to serve God and man by accepting money and "protection" from the government and remaining silent, as they did in 1930's Germany.

Protect your homes, neighbors and the children, yourself.
