Longtime traffic officer Roland Latulippe was honored at his retirement party on Thursday, Feb. 1. Among his special guests was his grandson, Dylan DelloIacono, 3, with Latulippe. Latulippe served the Bedford Police Department for 45 years, and always had a pocket full of Tootsie Rolls to hand out. (The Bedford Bulletin/Kevin Shalvey)

I will miss seeing Roland around Bedford with his orange gloves on directing traffic. Whenever I saw him I would yell out the window "HEY ROLAND!!" or I'd say "LET'S GO TO ARUBA!" haha :) He used to give me tootsie rolls whenever I saw him at a red light. What a great guy! He will be missed by all the residents of Bedford.
