I GREW UP ON THIS GREAT LAKE I HAD THE BEST YEARS OF MY LIFE THERE  THERE WAS ALWAYS A GREAT SUNSET.   VERY NICE PICTURE

From birth (1948), I lived on Palanga St., until our move to Hobson Street in 1965. I remember Forest Lake for hockey on the ice, car races on the ice, swam from Palanga to Sandy Beach (boat in tow) searched for sun turtles on the 'island' ever mindful of the water moccasins... new almost every neighbor around the whole lake! The cove, The 'Hall' (Lithuanian), etc.   My childhood was solid adventure and discovery... I loved it immensely!  Thanks for the photo... a great escape to my youth.
