Windham will put its patriotism on display when residents celebrate Town Day.
The free event on Sunday, July 1, at Griffin Park will kickoff at 10 a.m. with a tennis tournament for adults and kids age 5 and older.
From 1 to 2:30 p.m., there will be a bicycle/stroller/wagon parade, field games and a pie-eating contest.
The parade begins at 1 p.m. The field events will include sack races, water balloon tosses, three-legged races and relay races.
Make-your-own crafts will take place from 1 to 4 p.m., when the celebration ends. There will be hamburgers and hot dogs.
The Windham Community Band’s Flute Ensemble will begin performing at 2:45 p.m.
The event is hosted by the town’s recreation office.
“It’s a great day, it’s fun, and a chance to see other people in the community,” said Cheryl Haas, the town’s recreation director.
In the event of rain, the event will be on Wednesday, July 4.
