The Windham School Board has selected Becht to succeed Stephen Plocharczyk, who is retiring at the end of the school year.
Becht will serve as the second principal of the school, as Plocharczyk has been the only principal since the school opened its doors. Her salary will be $80,000 a year, said Brian Gallagher, business administrator for the school district.
“The district and staff are very honored and pleased to have such a dedicated and dynamic professional continuing the wonderful traditions of academic excellence, athletic success and community service at Windham Middle School,” the school board said in a press release announcing Becht’s appointment.
Becht holds a master’s degree in education from Rivier College and has been employed by the school district since 2000. She attended Windham Middle School.
