Police looking for answers in stabbings

BY DARRELL HALEN

Police continue to investigate stabbings that occurred at a house party in Windham.

Capt. Carl Wagner said investigators are interviewing several people about what happened at 4 Stonehedge Road, where a fight apparently broke out and at least five people were stabbed.

Police were called to the house around 3 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19, after receiving calls that people were outside the house yelling for help.

Officers from Windham, Salem and the state police arrived and learned that several people had been stabbed and that some of the victims had left before police got there.

Stephen Decarolis, 22, of Derry, was found on the house’s rear deck. He had been stabbed in the chest and hand. Decarolis was brought to a Derry hospital, was treated and released.

Police said they found his brother, Joshua Decarolis, 20, of Sanborton, who had run from the house. He was transported to the hospital for a deep stab wound to the left buttock.

Wagner said Joshua Decarolis underwent surgery and has nerve damage in his left leg.

Around 3:35 a.m., Nashua police stopped a vehicle and identified two witnesses and three stabbing victims.

The victims, who were brought to a Nashua hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries, are Hudson residents Jennifer Dumond, 22, Elizabeth Marchand, 25, and Christopher Mitchell, 28.

Wagner said several people who were at the house are being interviewed by police. Some had to be reinterviewed because they were too drunk at the house or because their stories conflict with those provided to police by others.

Wagner said police are trying to determine who were the victims and who were the aggressors at the house. No charges have yet been filed, he said.

Wagner said Jacqueline Rivela, 23, hosted the party at her parents’ home. She has denied hosting a party, but police believe she did, Wagner said.
