Christmas just keeps getting better. Politics is getting better too. I confess, controversy energizes me, especially when I’m on the winning side, but even if I’m not, it is good to see civilized conflict. The internet and cable news have broadened the stage and provided weapons and tools so that all can get a hearing. Granted, money still plays a larger-than-should-be role, but it is no longer the final arbiter.
Thanks to people like the American Family Association utilizing radio and the internet, “Christmas” has returned to some of the retailers who were succumbing to the radicals’ demands of PC terms like “Holiday”. The holdouts are feeling the pinch. Unfortunately, we still see “holiday” trees. What other “holiday” causes people to bring evergreen trees into their houses in the winter? Silly, eh? (Hilarious, actually).
Speaking of hilarity (Hillary?), claiming to be a champion of family issues for 35 years? Uh, doing what? Promoting the un-reproductive gay agenda, the counter-reproductive agenda of abortion or the reproduce-to-destroy agenda of FETAL stem cell research? Her party’s dominance in this state has stripped parents of their rights to deal with the reproductive decisions of their minor children and allowed rapists to conceal their crimes with the help of Planned Parenthood. I guess the attacks on the family count.
On the Republican side there is some silliness, too. What is the Republican platform? And even if it is defined, how do we keep the elected members compliant? I have written and called the national party to let them know that my support can no longer be counted on. I will only support candidates and causes that promote American values and traditions which ARE Christian in origin.
Should a candidate’s religious beliefs be considered? Yes, but more importantly, their actions must be viewed in light of Biblical truth. God is Pro-Life, period. Facts are facts. Do the homework before you put up a sign and vote. Use all of the powerful tools available. One person can make a difference, if you really want to. Of course, prayer is still the most powerful tool on the planet!
