I've had to pay at least 275.00 for two children and with a mortgage and oil so high it's very hard to pay each month. I moved to NH from Mass (which offers free kindergarten full days) and think it is ridiculous we have to pay for it. Keep raising the taxes on our properties, we don't get much in return.

re: N.H. gives towns another year to start kindergarten

I think there are alot of potential benefits for the children who will attend public Kindergarten. I would spend less time with my son for a longer period of time (until he reaches 1st grade) and more time working if I had to budget for paying for his K. I absolutely will if I need to, payed for or not, if a public setting is not equal or superior to private then there is my answer. The quality of this public program for which there is a question of funding and available space is a slippery slope. That is something I wouldn't want to introduce a year earlier. I believe that educating our youth, whether it is my child or the kids next door, should be everyone's concern and responsibility. We are all part of this community and kids grow up and also have to funtion in this community. It is in everyone's best interest to make Kindergarten more easily available to everyone- what ever that needs to look like. It's easy for people without young children to be against it, but seen from a more selfless perspective....most have none but financial issues with it.
