Pembroke store burglarized

Montminy’s Store in Pembroke was burglarized Nov. 18.

BY NICHOLAS BROWN

PEMBROKE – Police are investigating a November burglary in which more than $500 worth of beer, cigarettes and instant lottery tickets were taken from a local convenience store. Police are especially interested in identifying a young woman with long black hair who later cashed in one of the stolen tickets at a Tilton gas station, Pembroke Police Lt. Dwayne Gilman said.

On Nov. 18, at about 8:30 p.m., the rear window of Montminy’s Store was broken, and thieves made away with beer, cigarettes and 20 to 25 different lottery tickets, Gilman said. The thieves tripped an alarm, but fled before police arrived.

“They were real quick,” Gilman said. “My opinion would be that it was multiple people.”

Pembroke police contacted the New Hampshire Lottery Commission, which began tracking the stolen lottery tickets. Three of them have been cashed, Gilman said, and police have surveillance footage of one of the tickets being cashed by a young woman at the Tilton Blue Canoe Irving station.

Gilman said the woman was with a man, and the pair came to the station in a silver station wagon, either a Ford or Mercury from the mid to late 1990s. Gilman said he’s not sure if the young woman was involved in the November burglary, but said her identification could help crack the case.

Police asked anyone with information to call Gilman or Pembroke police detective Dawn Shea at 485-9173.

The Concord Regional Crime Line also accepts anonymous tips at 226-3100.
