Well it sounds like the parents are as much at fault here as the babysitter. The parents left this baby in Jessica's care twice a week for 6 months and realized nothing? Obviously, the baby was well cared for and treated fine the whole time! How are they "relieved to have their baby back safely" when the baby was never in danger? All these quotes sound like "coaching" by a knowledgeable source and they only make the parents sound neglectful in their past decisions! So my question is why did these parents give a stranger their 6 week old baby? By never doing a background check or verifying credentials, they admit to having done exactly this, handing over their newborn to a stranger. And why did they never do a spot check? Too busy I guess. Was this "discount daycare"? All these charges seem to be the parents lashing out in guilt. Funny part is that Jessica interviewed the "alternative" babysitters and I read she actually turned some of them down showing she did due diligence in making sure the child was safe whilst not in her care. Theft by deception...wasn't the baby being care for twice a week for 6 months? Whether Jessica did it or she had someone else do it, the child was cared for, hence, services rendered resulting in a fee. That charge is bogus! Sounds like the only thing Jessica is guilty of is lying!

I am shocked at the comments made by Bobbi. I happen to know most of the individuals involved in this situation, including the parents. Jessica was referred to the parents of the baby by several other families who had used her for their own babysitting services. She came highly recommended to almost everyone who used her, which total somewhere near 20 families in the Pelham area. Jessica was having someone else watch this boy for part days most of the time and the parents often picked the child up from a location that was screened by the parents. The charges make complete sense to me and if you know the laws and the elements of each law, Jessica clearly deserves each of them. Perhaps one should withhold comments on matters they don't know the full details for.
