Pelham cable operations
supervisor has been restricted
from school property except
during public meetings, pending
charges of sex solicitation earlier
this month.
James Greenwood, 47, of Pelham,
was charged with paying
for sexual intercourse following
his Feb. 8 arrest in Lowell, Mass.,
when he allegedly offered money
to an undercover officer posing
as a prostitute in Armory Park.
Greenwood is one of 13 suspects
that were caught in the
prostitution investigation. He
pleaded not guilty to the crime,
and he awaits trial on March 27
in Lowell District Court.
Pelham Town Administrator
Tom Gaydos said there have yet to
be repercussions on his town job
pending the charges, though selectmen
have not had any discussions
on the subject at the time.
As supervisor, Greenwood
oversees the department budget
and the workers while also serving
as the administrator to the
town’s online message board.
Though his job in the office
of the old town hall annex hasn’t
been affected, Greenwood said
he was given warning in a letter
from school officials not to trespass
on school property while
his charges are pending.
Since public meetings are entirely
filmed on school property,
Greenwood said the school district
sent a second letter allowing
him to attend public meetings
for filming and coverage of local
elections coming up March 11.
“Although the situation
hasn’t been settled, I am allowed
to any and all public meetings,”
Greenwood said. “It’s not really
keeping me from doing my job
anymore.”
Pelham Superintendent
Frank Bass said Greenwood
continues to work for the
school district as a contracted
employee through the town,
but would say nothing about
his future as an employee.
Bass did not acknowledge
or confirm the content of letters
Greenwood described about the
trespassing restrictions.
“My town job is still intact,”
Greenwood said. “I’m still contracted
with the school district,
but other than public meetings
and voting, there’s still a standing
order that I not trespass.”
