A Pelham woman was working on her home computer in the middle of the day when a man kicked in her front door, police said.
When the woman, a Jericho Road resident, heard a crash from downstairs, she went to the staircase. She looked down and saw a man.
The break-in happened around noon on Thursday, Dec. 27. When the woman saw the man, she screamed and he fled, according to Pelham police Lt. Brian McCarthy.
The woman called police and provided a description of the man. Two officers, Sgt. Glen Chase and officer Ryan Sambataro, saw a man who matched her description running down Jericho Road, McCarthy said.
The suspect was identified as Matthew Desrochers of Dracut, Mass., and officers learned there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Salem, according to McCarthy.
After Desrochers was taken into custody, the woman identified him as the same individual who broke into her home, McCarthy said.
Desrochers was arraigned in Nashua District Court on a charge of burglary.
