Pelham Parks and Recreation sponsors a Fun Fourth of July Fishing Tournament on Wednesday, July 4, from 6 to 10 a.m. at Pelham Veterans Memorial Park beach.  

Any 4- to 14-year-old Pelham resident can participate.  

A free Pelham Parks and Recreation registration for any 2007 program is the grand prize for the 4- to 14-year-old Pelham fisherman who catches the heaviest fish; fish length is the tiebreaker.  

The department encourages catch and release unless the winner is planning on eating the fish.  Anyone 16 and older who wants to participate with a child must have a New Hampshire fishing license.
