"I always get blamed for what I do" D. T. Menace

no tax increase

City manager Guy Ssntagate announced at the counsel meeting last night and attempt to hold taxes level on the city side of the budget.

Some counselors weren't too happy.  Let me try to explain from a tax payers point of view.  If the cost of living goes up then reapprasiles, new construction should increase the tax base.  Tax base times rate should show an increase of money avalible for the city to spend.  You don't need to raise the rate every year.  A three percent increase every year wold lead to a doubling of the rate every 24 years.  After twenty plus years in my current home I pay as much for taxes as I did PIT when I bought the place.  The rate has gone up  a third and value more than tripled.

Maybe its time we held the line
