  • NewHampshire.com is back to business

    Did you miss us?

NewHampshire.com was down for much of today (January 2, 2007) due to a problem at the company that hosts our server. We apologize for any inconvenience our absence from the World Wide Web may have caused you. New Hampshire's Homepage is happy to be back up and running to bring you the best arts, entertainment, recreation and community information Web site in the Granite State.

    Sincerely,

    The NewHampshire.com Staff

  • Downloads > Slideshows

    Hello everyone,

This week we added a new section on NewHampshire.com Communities called "Downloads". This section will allow users to upload content or link to files, such as videos, audio files, other documents to share with the public.

The Downloads section is currently in a test phase. We have a slideshow of the Salem High School girls field hockey team vs. Pinkerton, photographed and produced by Bruce Preston, the photo editor at Neighborhood News. He has another slideshow in the works, related to a tribute to fallen Salem veterans.

Let us know if you want more of this type of thing, or if you want to upload files of your own to share with others. We uploaded a small version of Bruce's field hockey slideshow, but have a larger version available -- would you prefer to see the larger version, or is the size we used big enough?

We may open this up to everyone, or to those who specifically ask for it. It depends on your feedback! Please comment to this post with your thoughts!

    Thanks,
    NewHampshire.com staff

  • HOW MANY LEAVES A LIGHT IN THE WINDOW YEAR ROUND?

I was wondering how many people leave a light in the window all year round.  I leave a Christmas lighted candle (electric) in at least 2 of my windows all year round.  I like the warm feeling that it envokes to see the warm glow of the light...especially on a cold, dark winter's night.  I know that there is a tradition in New England of leaving a light in the window to welcome anyone to the home.  How many leave a light in thier windows?

  • Can you post it now?

    Hello everyone,

It appears that while we were fixing one feature here, we accidentally disabled another: the ability for you to post blog entries! (Sorry!) Hey, we're all human.

So please, try again. If you're still having trouble, let us know!

    Thanks,

  • Welcome to the new NewHampshire.com

The NewHampshire.com team is proud to unveil our new and improved product to the Granite State. It was more than a year ago that we began this project to redevelop "New Hampshire's Homepage". We wanted to improve the design of our site, but more importantly, we wanted to provide more features for you — our users.

For those of you who have been here before, you’ll notice we’ve improved our events calendar, recreation listings and visitor information pages that have been a staple of NewHampshire.com since its inception in 1999. You’ll also notice something new — Your Neighborhood News.

Your Neighborhood News is an online community that allows you and your neighbors to share the news and information important to you. Every registered user will get their own Web log (blog) and photo gallery. Your contributions will appear on your city's or town's page on the site. And, it may also appear in one of our affiliated newspapers. Citizen journalism is sweeping the nation, and we're proud to be bringing it to New Hampshire.

Registering to contribute is free, and the first 1,000 people who join will get a free $5 gas card* from our friends at Irving Oil.

Our affiliated newspapers will be sharing their news on NewHampshire.com as well, and the editorial staffs at those papers look forward to reading your comments on all the important community stories that will be posted to the site each week.

The NewHampshire.com team knows the Granite State continues to be a great place to live because of all you wonderful people who call this place home. We hope you'll all be back to visit New Hampshire's Homepage often to share your news, see what your neighbors are up to, plan your weekend, or just be entertained.

    Enjoy!
