An actor struggles to relive the trials of Noah, while the animals boarding his ark speak in confounding tongues that leave him even more befuddled.
That’s the story of “Jack, the Ark and the Aardvark,” the feature presentation of this year’s New Boston Community Church dinner-theater.
A play-within-a-play, “Jack, the Ark and the Aardvark” tells the story of Noah’s Ark through the adventures of Jack, a bewildered actor who portrays the biblical hero in a stage production.
Portraying Jack in the community church production is Eric Scoville, who last year played the title role in the church’s production of “Once Upon a Wolf.”
Other performers featured in the play include Pastor Woody Woodland as Yak, Kaydee Griffin in the dual roles of the Aardvark and Neighbor Two, Ashley Scoville as the Narrator and Kathryn Hulick as Llama and Neighbor One.
This year’s dinner theater offers the audience two other plays as part of “An Evening with Noah.” Other selections will include Kenny Ballou’s interpretation of Bill Cosby’s “Noah” routine, and Austin and Jeremie Clark starring in Mark Twain’s “Noah and the Bureaucrat.”
This year’s community church dinner-theater production is set for Friday, April 20, and Sunday, April 22, with dinner at 6 p.m. and performances beginning at 7:30 p.m. The dinner menu consists of chicken parmesan, salad, bread sticks and dessert.
Dinner and performance tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children, while tickets for the play alone are $5.
