So here we are.
Less than 24 hours away from one of the more interesting and (perhaps) most important New Hampshire Primaries in history. Less than 48 hours from the day after the Primary. All of this and we don't even get a half-off sale. It feels like Christmas all over again sans said sale. I even saw Santa holding up a Ron Paul sign.
You know how this Primary thing goes. Months of anticipation leading up to the big day. Tour buses blocking Elm Street in Manchester. Candidates accosting you during lunch. That little Fox News "Election Link" van speeding down the highway with former WMUR correspondent Carl Cameron inside. The tattered signs perched on snow banks. The interrupting phone calls from pollsters. The gaggle of International journalists reporting from population-challenged towns. The vote-for-me television commercials leading to Monday morning heated debates around the water cooler. The raucous rallies on street corners. The previously empty office buildings now filled with busy volunteer campaign workers. Even Oprah paid us a visit.
Oh bask in the glory of our importance as the day will soon be done!
What I'm trying to say is: They'll all be gone on Wednesday.
