This way kids get use to the Mac and in future years when they are potentially decision makers, they will buy Apple.

I am an IT Director for a company and would never consider them for any of my departments other than maybe marketing as the business applications software market also doesn't take them seriously.

The problem is Apple based machines aren't exactly the best business machine used in running a corporation. Ok, they're great for artistic types, but if you are crunching numbers, running manufacturing process etc they fall real short.

It appears to me that what people are talking about is their personal preference-PC or a Mac, and that this has gone on for quite some time now. What really is important here is not what I may personally want, or what David Pearl personally wants. What is important is the education of the children of Hooksett. Many years ago the school board made a decision to have a Mac platform, which tends to be more user friendly for educational purposes. The kids are in school to get an education, and our teachers and students need equipment that is most compatible so that can be achieved. What is important is that our children get the education they need, and that as a community that we make decisions that achieve that purpose without a negative impact upon student learning. That is what is important here, not a few adults acting childish.
