Following the death of James Oliver on March 19, it became necessary to replace him as a state representative in the New Hampshire State Legislature for District 9, Hooksett.
Hooksett will have a special primary election on Tuesday, June 5, and the general election on July 10. Residents of Hooksett may vote at Cawley Middle School from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
There are two Republican candidates, David Boutin and Richard “***” Marple, and one Democratic candidate, David Paquette.
The New Hampshire State House is the largest state legislative body in the United States, with 400 members. Elections normally take place every two years.
The other current members of the State House representing Hooksett are Eileen S. Ehlers, David W. Hess, and Charlie J. Humphries.
