Hooksett police said two people found dead inside a Pine Street home likely overdosed on drugs.
On Thursday, March 8, police found Harold Bulger, 23, and his girlfriend, Jessica Thyng, 28, from Hudson, dead inside the home Bulger shared with his parents at 12 Pine St., just north of the Hooksett Village.
Bulger’s mother, Mary, said her son was recently out of a Manchester drug rehabilitation program, and had been considering returning to school and getting some specialized job training.
“He wanted very much to be be the person he knew he could really be,” said Bulger. “He was trying to beat this. He really was.”
The state’s medical examiner office recently performed autopsies on the bodies, and Hooksett Police Detective Lt. Paul Cecilio said the results don’t indicate any unexpected foul play.
“Nothing strange popped up that would point us in a different direction,” he said.
Bulger had a history of drug problems, and was in the middle of a two-year suspended sentence for his actions after a drug overdose in the same home last year, police said.
Mary Bulger said her son, who was always very smart and perceptive, was greatly helped by the Farnum Center, a Manchester substance abuse treatment center.
“Underneath the addiction he was a very caring person,” said Bulger. “He was aware of all the pain he was causing the people who loved him.”
The Bulger family is urging people who can to donate to the Farnum Center.
“We’re going to do what we can to help others avoid his end,” Mary Bulger said.
