Auditions for the Rochester Opera House Production of Tom Dulack’s Comedy “Breaking Legs” Announced

"Breaking Legs" A Comedy by Tom Dulack takes place in an Italian Restaurant and is the story about an eager playwright who gains backing for his new play (a treatise on murder) from a beautiful former student and her Italian family. Life imitates art when he discovers the "accidental death" of one of her father's "business colleagues" and realizes his patrons are mobsters and wackiness ensues. The cast includes five men, one woman. Seeking "Actors" of all experience levels Local Community People encouraged to give the stage a try. The play will be directed by Debra Martuscello Wiley Local Actress/Director and will be performed on Thursday, Friday & Saturday, October 15-17, 2009 8:00 PM, Thursday, Friday & Saturday, October 22-24, 2009 8:00 PM & Saturday, October 24, 2009 2:00 PM. The Auditions will be held in the Ballroom at the Governor’s Inn on Tuesday August 11, from 7-10 pm we will be reading from the script. Where:     Veteran's Park in Manchester, N.H.
                Located on Elm Street (bounded by Merrimack and Central Streets), one block north
                of the Verizon Wireless Arena and adjacent to Hillsborough County Superior Court

New Hampshire Motor Speedway is searching for the next great talent to be the first mascot for the largest sports and entertainment complex in New England. If you are an entertainer with a dynamic and outgoing personality, we are looking for you!

The lucky winner will perform in front of over 105,000 NASCAR fans twice a year, represent the speedway at numerous civic functions, and be a part of the world of major league mascots!

"There is a star out there waiting to be discovered, and we are going to find that person," said Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manger of New Hampshire Motor Speedway. "There will be no 'textgate' at this casting call! Our judging panel will make the right choice, guaranteed!"

This casting call is open to anyone age 18 and over.

Auditions for "subUrbia" by Eric Bogosian

Ghostlight Theater Co., New England’s award-winning alternative theatre troupe will be holding auditions for it’s summer production of "subUrbia" written by Eric Bogosian and directed by Ozan Haksever.

Auditions will be held in three locations:
-Nashua, NH at the Nashua Public Library on Sunday May 3rd from 2-5pm
-Salem, NH at the Kelley Library on Wednesday May 6th 6-8:30pm - Kelley
Library -Salem, MA at Salem State College, Sullivan Building, Rm 096
(basement level) on Thursday May 7th 6-9pm

Show dates will be July 31, August 1st, 2nd, 7th and 8th at the Amato Center in Milford, NH. Producer Rob Fitzgerald says, "Ghostlight is hoping for a diverse group of actors for this latest production. "Suburbia" is a play that is reflective of many current issues facing not just young adults, but all of us. Issues such as racism, stereotypes and economic standing are the central themes. We hope that the cast will be a fitting example of the diversity that this piece promotes." The cast calls for nine twenty-something actors, five male and four female. The parts of Norman and his sister, Pakeesh, require the ability to speak with an Indian accent. The part of Pony requires the ability to play guitar and sing a simple song. Auditions will be cold readings from the script.

The Acting Loft Academy of Performing Arts open call audition

The Acting Loft Academy of Performing Arts will hold an open call audition for its newest educational program, The Teen Director's Lab presents An Evening of David Ive's One-Act Plays on Monday, March 23^rd from 6-8pm. The one-act comedies all written by David Ives, best known for the comic genius of his play, All In The Timing, range from 15- 25 minutes in length and will be directed by area high school students who will be mentored by Acting Loft Director of Education, Kirstin Kennedy and Artistic Director, Christopher Courage.

The evening of plays will feature 6 comedies providing parts for a large number of performers. Auditions are open to any performer age 15 and up. Rehearsals will be held one day per week and will be scheduled for either Wednesday or Thursday evening from 6:30 - 9:00 depending on the show an actor is cast in.

The Teen Director's Lab will perform Friday and Saturday evening, June 5^th & 6^th. Those wishing to audition for the show should prepare a contemporary one minute monologue and come prepared for cold readings from the script.. Auditions are by appointment only. The Teen Director's Lab is a new Acting Loft program designed to enhance The Acting Loft's mission of providing the highest quality theatre arts education and entertainment to children and adults of all ages. Teen directors were chosen from submissions from high school students from all over southern, New Hampshire. The Acting Loft hopes through this program to provide directorial opportunities and education to students who take a unique interest in the back-stage side of theatre arts.

The Acting Loft Announces Auditions for Jason Robert Brown's Songs For A New World

The Acting Loft Academy of the Performing Arts is holding open call auditions for their upcoming production of Songs For A New World on Sunday, December 28 from 5:30 6:30pm and Monday, December 29^th from 7:00 8:30pm

Jason Robert Brown has quickly become a leading Broadway composer for the younger generation. His other shows include; The Last Five Years, Parade, and a current production of his newest show, 13. Songs For A New World is his first show and was created as a song cycle that details the changes that individuals go through in their lives. Songs For A New World contains some of the most electrifying and innovative music to hit the world of musical theatre in many years. Musical highlights include; Stars and the Moon, Steam Train, The River Won't Flow and A New World.

Auditions for Songs For A New World are open to all performers ages 14 and up and

those wishing to audition should prepare a short song. Auditions will be held at The Acting Loft studios located at 516 Pine Street in Manchester. Those interested in auditioning should call 666-5999 to schedule an audition appointment.

Songs For A New World will be directed by Acting Loft Artistic Director, Chris Courage with musical direction by Joel Mercier. Songs For A New World will be performed Friday thru Sunday, February 20-22 and is part of the Acting Loft's Mainstage series which performs full-scale musical productions for the entire family using live musicians as well as complete sets and costumes. The Acting Loft Audition Call For Scrooge - The Musical

The Acting Loft Academy of the Performing Arts is holding open call auditions for their upcoming production of Scrooge The Musical on Wednesday, Oct. 1 & 8.

Based on the classic film starring Albert Finney, Scrooge The Musical is an updated musical retelling of the classic Charles Dickens story, A Christmas Carol.

Filled with memorable characters including Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, and of course, the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future, and including over twenty high energy musical numbers, Scrooge The Musical is the perfect opportunity for the entire family to participate in a theatrical show together. The Acting Loft is searching for a cast of over 30 performers and encourages entire families to audition. Auditions are open to any performer aged 6 and up.

Those wishing to audition should prepare a short song and a short reading or poem. A brief and simple dance combination will be taught at the audition so performers should come dressed in comfortable clothing that allows easy movement. New Thalian Players announce auditions for summer production of The Wizard of Oz

The New Thalian Players announce auditions for their summer production of The Wizard of Oz to be staged for Theatre in the Park 2008, in Veterans Park in downtown Manchester.

The performance dates are July 18, 19, 25, 26, 2008. July 20 and 27 will be reserved as possible rain dates (this in an outdoor venue). This is the Royal Shakespeare Company version of the script, which is closer in content to the original movie.

Auditions will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 106 Lowell Rd. Manchester (corner of Pine and Lowell streets)

Sunday 4/13/08: 1-3 p.m. (children only); 3-5 p.m. (adults only)

Monday, 4/14/08: 6-10 p.m. (adults only)

Wednesday, 4/16/08: Callbacks (if necessary) from 6-10 p.m.

Adults: All are welcome to audition (HS and older)! Actresses auditioning for Dorothy will do so with the adults. Actresses auditioning for Dorothy must be at least a freshman (currently enrolled) in High School or older. Need to be able to play about 16 years of age in general.

- 16 Bars of a prepared, up tempo Broadway or Standard number from pre-1960. Bring sheet music or CD accompaniment. No music from Oz please. Those auditioning for Dorothy should prepare a Broadway or Standard ballad from the same time period (other than Rainbow). Bring sheet music or CD accompaniment.

- No Monologues; actors will read from sides and do a possible theatrical exercise

- Actors will be asked to do one to two easy dance combinations

- Please wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing

Children: Children between 8 years of age and 8th grade may audition.

- Sing a few lines of a simple, well known song (ex: Christmas song, children's song, Happy Birthday, etc). No music necessary.

- No Monologues; will read selected lines from the show and possibly do a theatrical exercise

- Will be asked to do a simple dance combination
