"Full House" Expected for Sunday's SYLVANIA 300

A capacity crowd will be on hand for Sunday's SYLVANIA 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Speedway officials announced today that other than a "few" single seats and handicap accessible seats, all tickets to the grandstand seating area are gone.

A limited number of backstretch, standing-room and infield "Trackside-View" tickets are available. Tickets to these areas are still available in advance by calling the speedway's ticket office at (603) 783-4931, which speedway officials are encouraging.

"Positioned as the opening venue for the first race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, we are thrilled that these drivers will begin their quest for the championship in front of a full-house," said Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of the speedway. "This is a testimony to the loyal fans who support NASCAR racing here at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

"As the largest sports and entertainment facility in New England, located in the seventh-largest media market in the country, this speaks volumes," said Gappens.

"We urge those fans unable to join us at the speedway Sunday to buy tickets for Friday and Saturday's exciting days of racing, and to tune in to ABC's coverage of the SYLVANIA 300, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Sunday."

Speedway Children's Charities to Hold Memorabilia Auction

The New Hampshire Motor Speedway chapter of Speedway Children's Charities will host a NASCAR Memorabilia Auction on Saturday, September 19, during the SYLVANIA 300 race weekend.

The Auction will take place in the Nationwide Pit-Stop tent in the corporate display area on Saturday at 6:00 p.m., approximately one hour after the conclusion of the NASCAR Camping World Series Truck race. Admission will be free to the public, with all auction proceeds going to the New Hampshire chapter of Speedway Children's Charities, who support the needs of children here in the Northeast.

Items up for auction include NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver helmets, uniforms, sheet metal and other racing gear from Dale Earnhardt, Jr.; Jeff Gordon; Jimmie Johnson; Tony Stewart; and many other top drivers. There will also be a special appearance by June's race winner, Joey Logano.

Local Auctioneer Paul McInnis from North Hampton, N.H. will be the master of ceremonies. Beverages will be served throughout the night.

For the first time ever, New Hampshire Motor Speedway fans will have the opportunity to be the ultimate insider at Sunday's SYLVANIA 300 with the new "Trackside Pass."

This incredible offer will allow fans pre-race pit road access; the chance to attend the Town Meeting with speedway officials Bruton Smith, Jerry Gappens, and leaders in the world of motorsports; and admission to the "Trackside Tent" and the turn one and two areas of the infield to watch the first race in the "Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup."

Hornaday Looking for Record Fourth Truck Series Win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

As New Hampshire Motor Speedway's only three-time and back-to-back winner in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Ron Hornaday, Jr. will come to New Hampshire in September to continue his record-setting domination.

Hornaday became the first repeat winner in the Camping World Truck Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2007, 11 years after winning the inaugural Truck Series race at the speedway in 1996.

Last September, Hornaday earned his third victory at the speedway, along with the distinction of being the first back-to-back Truck Series race winner at the track.

Winning in New Hampshire has also been important to Hornaday's success. In two of the three seasons he's won in New Hampshire, Hornaday has gone on to win the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship. In his career, Hornaday has four championships and 42 victories.

He's not slowing down either. The winningest driver in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series history, Hornaday has visited victory lane four times in 2009, including a win on his birthday at the Milwaukee Mile. As an encore, the 51-year-old won again the following week at Memphis Motorsports Park, and made it three in a row last week at Kentucky. He is currently the Series points leader.

"New Hampshire Motor Speedway has been a very good track for the No. 33 team for the past few years," said Hornaday. "It's pretty cool that I am the only three time winner [in the Truck Series] at that track. There are a lot of other drivers who have had a lot of success there, my boss [Kevin Harvick] being one of them. I don't know if we can make it three in a row, but we will sure try."

Thanks to the overwhelming fan response that made the Speed Zone seating such a success at the LENOX Industrial Tools 301, New Hampshire Motor Speedway has announced the creation of the SYLVANIA Speed Zone, a special seating section that offers a $39 ticket for the SYLVANIA 300 on Sunday, September 20.

A section of seats in the Laconia Grandstand has been designated as the SYLVANIA Speed Zone. COM Sports Cars Open New Hampshire Motor Speedway's Historic 20th Season

The COM Sports Car Club will open the historic 20th season of competition at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 4.

Formed initially in 1958 as Corvettes of Massachusetts, COM is one of the oldest active sports car clubs in America. This all volunteer group has grown into a diverse organization for enthusiasts and racers throughout the northeast area and into Canada.

With an outstanding reputation for providing top-notch high-speed driving instruction and highly competitive time trialing, the competitors of COM will challenge the 1.6-mile road course at the speedway on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5.

The club utilizes the oval's wide, banked surface and then transitions into narrower sections which include tight ess turns providing fans with a real thrill. The course highlight is the steeply banked, hairpin turn known as "the bowl," which also features several dramatic changes in elevation.

"Cabin fever has been running rampant, so it's good to finally go racing," said Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Due to inclement weather, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Heluva Good! Pole Day for the SYLVANIA 300 has been canceled. The NASCAR Camping World Series East Heluva Good! 125 has been postponed to Saturday, September 13.

Those guests who purchased tickets for Friday's qualifying and race will be able to attend all of Saturday's events.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Camping World RV Rental 200 Driven By Winnebago Industries qualifying has been canceled because of the schedule changes.

The SYLVANIA 300 and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Camping World RV Rental 200 Driven By Winnebago Industries fields will be set by the NASCAR Rule Book.

The Heluva Good! 125 will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Speedway Motorsports' Newest Facilities Make History This Weekend with NASCAR and NHRA Championship Kickoffs

With two major championship events set for this weekend, Speedway Motorsports, Inc. will make motorsports history as the first company to host playoff kickoffs for both NASCAR and the NHRA.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway will host the "Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup" in Loudon, N.H., while the NHRA's "Countdown to the Championship" begins at zMAX Dragway in Concord, N.C.

Since the "Chase" format was introduced in 2004, the SYLVANIA 300 has always been the first of 10 races in NASCAR's run for the Sprint Cup championship.

The inaugural NHRA Nationals at zMAX Dragway @ Concord, the "Bellagio of drag strips," will open the six event "Countdown" featuring competitors in all four professional categories: Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle.

It certainly will be a momentous weekend for Bruton Smith, chairman and chief executive officer of Speedway Motorsports, Inc.

"This is definitely an exciting time for us," said Smith. "We are fortunate to be leading the charge for both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and NHRA championships at two of the finest facilities in the country. It's going to be a spectacular weekend and the real winners will be the fans who will see two incredible shows."

The Broadway Midway Debuts During the SYLVANIA 300 Weekend

For the first time at any major NASCAR race, the "Broadway Midway" will bring the atmosphere of an old-fashioned state fair to the biggest sporting event weekend in New England, the SYLVANIA 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway from this Thursday through Sunday.

Several all-time favorite amusement rides will be part of the speedway exhibitor and display area located just outside turns one and two.

The featured ride at any fair, the Ferris Wheel, will be the main attraction. Riders will be offered a breath-taking view of the speedway infield. Other rides will include the "Traffic Jam," the "Twister," and the "Round Up/Cyclone"

"Everyone loves a fair," said Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of the speedway. "The Broadway Midway will create a fun environment within our already extremely popular exhibitor's row. It will give our camping guests a great way to enjoy their nights with us as well."

The Broadway Midway will be open Thursday, September 11 through Saturday, September 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Sunday, September 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Diamond Rio Headlines SYLVANIA 300 Pre-Race Spectacular

Award-winning recording artists Diamond Rio will headline a spectacular pre-race show at the SYLVANIA 300 on Sunday, September 14 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

In addition to a sizzling, 45-minute concert, the band will also perform the National Anthem for the more than 105,000 guests in attendance at the speedway and a live TV audience of millions on ABC.

Sprint Racing Experience Highlights Sunday's SYLVANIA 300 "Chase" Kick-Off Party

Fans will have the opportunity to personally experience the thrill of NASCAR racing this Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at New Hampshire Motor Speedway's "Chase" Kick-Off Party.

Kicking off SYLVANIA 300 Week activities, the Sprint Racing Experience will be at the speedway to demonstrate the incredible speed and awesome power of a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car.
