First Colebrook Branch opens Portsmouth branch

First Colebrook Bank, based in New Hampshire’s North Country and with branches in Concord and Amherst, opens for business in Portsmouth on August 31. “The Moose has come to the Seacoast,” says John Pratt, Senior Vice President/Seacoast Region Manager of First Colebrook Bank. “The bank was established in the Great North Woods 120 years ago, so a moose is our symbol; people call us the ‘Moose Bank’. But in recent years, we’ve expanded to Concord, Amherst, and now Portsmouth… all areas where we found a strong, local business community and the need for a local, full-service, community bank.”

Renovation of a former bank property at 2400 Lafayette Road (Route 1), near Southgate Plaza and Water Country, has been going on all summer. Adds Pratt, “We think that these days, more than ever, many people prefer a local, New Hampshire-owned, community bank that provides the personalized service and financial products that meet their needs.” An official “log cutting” ceremony is scheduled for September 18 at 10am. Grand opening week, September 14-19, will culminate in a neighborhood party with a charity car wash, refreshments, and giveaways that include Red Sox tickets. “We look forward to meeting all our new neighbors!”

First Colebrook Bank opened a business loan center on Maplewood Avenue in downtown Portsmouth in 2007. Operations there have moved to the full-service branch on Route 1.

Founded in Colebrook, New Hampshire, First Colebrook Bank has been serving the banking needs of individuals and small business in New Hampshire since 1889. First Colebrook Bank, a New Hampshire-owned, community bank, operates offices in Colebrook, Concord, Amherst and Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

First Colebrook Bank is a member of the FDIC and an Equal Housing Lender.
