Ice Storm Tees

The Shirt
With their power out, businesses interrupted, and lives put on hold, Kerrin Mooney and Ed Goyette of Birch Marketing and Design Group, based in hard-hit Hampstead, kept looking for the silver lining. The two found it, and a way to help the community, in something muttered by Goyette as he looked around his living room, "No Power, No Heat, No Phone, No Nothin'ˇ.

"Immediately after saying it, I thought it sounded like something you would see on a T Shirtˇ recalls Goyette. He immediately sent a text message to Mooney with the idea, and the Ice Storm T Shirt was born.

An Opportunity to Help
"Once the idea took hold, we realized the shirt would be a great way to help those who weren't as lucky as we were in the storm.ˇ Said Goyette. "I had lost a weeks worth of groceries, and had just heard about a local food pantry that had lost 60 donated turkeys, so it seemed fitting that we partner with an organization that provides food. The New Hampshire Food Bank does great work, and we're thrilled that our idea will ultimately end up feeding hundreds of hungry people.ˇ said Mooney.

One dollar from the purchase of every shirt will be donated to The New Hampshire Food Bank. Through their efforts, this organization can provide an incredible four meals for every donated dollar.

Wildfire
Goyette, who also owns BeanTowne Coffee House on Route 111 in Hampstead, sent one email to his customers informing them of the shirt. Within 30 hours, all 100 shirts in the initial order had been sold. Another 150 were quickly created and are selling out fast. "The overwhelmingly positive response just goes to show how much this storm impacted everyone's lives.ˇ said Goyette. "It's something none of us will ever forget."

Shirts can be purchased online at http://www.icestormtees.com or directly at Beantowne Coffee House, 201 Route 111, Hampstead, NH.
