Misery is alive! Ghostlight announces auditions for the stage adaptation of Stephen King's classic novel!

Open Auditions for Stephen King's "MISERY," directed by Lisa DeFazio, will be held on Wednesday, October 1st at 7pm at the Kelley Library in Salem, NH. The play calls for two middle age actors to portray the roles of Annie Wilkes and Paul Sheldon. Prepared monologues (contemporary, 2 minutes or less) are recommended, though not required. No appointment is necessary to audition, but those who cannot make the scheduled date should contact DeFazio, at lisadin72@yahoo.com, to schedule another time. Note: this play is being nominated for the NH Theatre Awards.

DeFazio expressed her excitement for this production when she was quoted as saying "I am very excited to see the talent turn-out, and look forward to working with a petite yet amazingly gifted cast!"

In "Misery," the life of author Paul Sheldon is saved from a car accident by Annie Wilkes, a former nurse who carries Sheldon back to her home to care for him. Wilkes, Sheldon's self-declared #1 fan, is obsessed with the authors "Misery" romance series. When Wilkes discovers that "Misery Chastain," the lead character in Sheldon's book series is killed, Wilkes sets out on a terrible rage, which keeps Sheldon struggling for his life.
