The seventh annual Crispin’s House One-Pitch Softball Tournament takes place Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Villa Augustina fields. First pitch is set for 9 a.m.
Al Baines, president of Crispin’s House and tournament director, said Main Street Eye Care, the Goffstown Police Association, Poised Solutions Inc. and Granite St ate Plumbing and Heating LLC are sponsoring the tournament, hosted by Goffstown Junior Baseball.
“We are extremely grateful for their support and generosity,” said Baines. “They have been hosting this tournament for Crispin’s House from the beginning.
The entry of the Bedford Fire Department brings a new rival for the Goffstown Fire Department. Rounding out the rest of the field is the Goffstown Police Department, Goffstown Ace Hardware, Granite State Plumbing and Heating, Goffstown Junior Baseball, the Friends of Babe Ruth Softball, the Zach Cusson team, the Black Sox from New Boston, the Green Monsters from Manchester and the Chester Fathers and Sons team.
Hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn and soft drinks are available at the concessions stand. Some 50/50 raffles and a drawing for an autographed 2008 Celtics championship jersey, donated to Crispin’s House 40by the Merchants Automotive Group of Hooksett, are also planned. Tickets for the jersey remain on sale until the time of the drawing.
All proceeds from the tournament help fund the nonprofit Crispin’s House and its programs, which support youths and families in the Goffstown area.
