The Town Clerk's Office would like to remind Goffstown residents of the upcoming Elections Days. The NH State Primary will take place on Tuesday, September 9th and the NH State General Election on Tuesday, November 4th. Polls are open both days from 7:00am to 7:00pm at Goffstown High School and Bartlett Elementary School.

Staff at the Town Clerk's Office is available to answer election related questions prior to Election Days. Election information is also available on the Town's website. We encourage you to call the Town Hall prior to Election Days at 497-8990 Ext.109 or 497-8990 Ext. 100 with any questions especially if you need to know your polling location.

No absentee ballots are accepted at the Town Clerk's Office on Election Day. The Town Clerk's Office is required to remain open until 5:00pm to accept absentee ballots (if returned in person) on the day prior to the election. Absentee ballots (if returned by mail) must be received by 5:00pm on Election Day. Extra postage is usually required when mailing back your absentee ballot because the ballot envelopes are oversized.

We encourage you to vote. You cannot register to vote at Town Hall on Elections Days. Residents may register to vote on Election Days at the polls only. Be prepared to provide valid picture identification and proof of residency. Naturalized citizens should produce Naturalization papers stating the court where they became a citizen and the month, day and year of occurrence. The Supervisors of the Checklist will be available at both polling locations to assist new voters.

The Town Clerk's Office will be open with skeleton staff on both Election Days. The Town Clerk and Deputy Town Clerk will be working at the polls and we hope to see you there. We ask residents to visit our office on another day if possible or please be prepared to wait. The office will close for an employee lunch hour from approximately 1-2pm.
