It’s been a difficult beginning to the 2007 season for the John Stark field hockey team. It certainly didn’t get any easier with last week’s road loss, a 10-0 decision to Bow on Sept. 12.
That game marked the second time this season John Stark has lost by that margin; the team fell to Kearsarge in its opener by the same score. The Lady Generals also suffered a 9-0 loss this year.
In six contests, John Stark has given up eight goals per game. The Stark girls fell to Lebanon on Friday, Sept. 14, 6-0.
However, head coach Nicole Richardson said her team has maintained its positive attitude.
“It’s hard because during any given game we might have four or five new players on the field,” she said. “But it doesn’t bother them at all. They have been able to come back from these losses better than I have.”
Richardson was hesitant to name players who played well during the Bow game, but she did say her charges name their player of the game after each contest.
“Today that will be hard to find,” she added.
