Amy Walker, a 24-year-old Goffstown resident, died on Monday, Aug. 20, in a single-car accident.
At approximately 9:10 p.m. members of the New Hampshire State Police Troop-D Concord were advised of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 93 southbound in Canterbury.
It was found that a 2000 BMW sedan exiting Exit 18 had entered the grass triangle between the exit off-ramp and on-ramp, when the vehicle rolled multiple times, ejecting Walker, the lone occupant. Due to the injuries suffered in the accident, Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial investigation revealed that when the car exited the Interstate was unable to negotiate the curve of the off-ramp. The vehicle then went over the granite curbing and rolled, coming to rest over a guardrail down an embankment.
Police sad they do not think Walker was wearing a seatbelt when the accident occurred. Emergency Services was immediately summoned to the scene to administer emergency medical aid to no avail.
Additional police assisted at the scene including the Canterbury Police Department, Northfield Police Department, Canterbury Fire Department, Concord Fire Department, and the Office of the New Hampshire Medical Examiner.
The initial cause of the accident is believed to be unreasonable speed pending standard toxicology results.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact Trooper First Class Johnston of Troop-D Concord at 271-3636.
