Thieves stole valuables from at least 19 cars on and around Main Street on Sunday, July 22, according to the Goffstown Police Department.
Police Capt. Michael Sullivan said police currently have no suspects in the thefts, which appear to have taken place between 2 and 5 a.m. He said 19 cars was the confirmed number, but others might have been stolen from and not reported.
“We have thefts like this sporadically around town. It’s the number of cars at once with this one,” Sullivan said.
He said the thefts appeared to be random, with the culprits taking any valuables they found inside the parked cars. As the investigation continues, he said residents should think about security when leaving their cars unattended.
“Keep your cars locked, and lock them up when you leave them. It’s definitely a good idea to not have valuables in your car, but if you do bring them with you, leave them out of sight or in the trunk,” he said.
