The Goffstown and John Stark indoor track and field teams didn’t enter the Class L and I-M-S Championships at Dartmouth College’s Leverone Field House with a ton of fanfare or participants.
But those who competed left with solid performances.
Goffstown junior Chris Kelliher earned his team’s lone point at the Class L meet on Saturday, Feb. 3, with a sixth-place finish in the 1,000-meter run, finishing in 2-minutes, 47.27 seconds, a personal best for the season. Kelliher ran in 2:48.90 to qualify.
Junior Sean Colligan, the Grizzlies’ other male competitor, placed 13th in a competitive 3,000-meter run field with a time of 9:39.74.
Amelia Berube, Goffstown’s lone female participant, matched her season-best leap of 4-feet, 10 inches to tie for 13th in the high jump.
On Friday, Feb. 2, the John Stark girls team featured two runners in junior Emily Peterson, who placed ninth in the 55-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 7.80 seconds, and Josi Heer, who placed seventh in the 55-meter hurdles finals with a time of 9.61.
Heer, a senior, had qualified for the finals with a sixth-place run of 9.65 seconds in the second heat of the preliminaries.
