The Top Ten Reasons that Ron Paul and the Red Sox will both win

The Top Ten Reasons that Ron Paul and the Red Sox will both win

10) They are both in the superior division – The Red Sox are in the American League, which has a history of dominance over the National League since the designated hitter rule went into effect, and Ron Paul is the peace candidate and the peace candidate always wins.

9) The early results are great for both – The Sox have won the first two games of the World Series and Ron Paul is dominating the straw polls

8) Unexpected treasures are bringing great rewards – The Red Sox second baseman, Dustin Pedroia, in his first major-league year, is hitting at an incredible pace in the regular season and in the playoffs. And who would have thought the college crowds would be revved up by a call to end the Federal Reserve?

7) I hate to say it, but although it does not mean everything (ask Joe Torre or Steve Forbes), money helps a LOT. $165M for the Sox over six months, $7.5M + for Paul.

6) The volunteers: OK, maybe fans play a limited role in the success of a team, but the fierce devotion of the members of Red Sox Nation is eclipsed only by the supporters of Ron Paul.

5) Their opponents also show little real strength – the Rockies only won 90 games this year (in the National League!), and Romney can’t even get people to donate to him who are not named “Mitt Romney.”

4) Even away, they still have the advantage – Coors field (and its thin air) is a goldmine for the power-heavy hitting of the Red Sox and the largest crowds yet for Paul were in Ann Arbor, MI – a liberal haven coming out to rally for a Republican.

3) Both have quirky areas to help them out – The Red Sox have Fenway Park, the oldest ballpark in the country with its nutty Green Monster that seems to help only the Red Sox and Ron Paul has NH – the most libertarian state in the union hosting the first primary.

2) The Paul campaign is backed by tens of thousands of grassroots supporters, able to do things (such as run TV ads) that only the official campaigns of other candidates can muster. Such support is like having a bullpen able to pitch even better than world-class starters. Can we say Okajima?

1) Both are led by champions - The Red Sox have Josh Beckett, likely the best pitcher in all of baseball this year. The Ron Paul campaign has Ron, the most honest man in Washington.
