Today at Prospect Mountain High School, principal Russell Holden was defended by some of the students who attend the school. There was a petition going around for Mr. Holden's job to be saved.
This all erected from an article in Friday's edition of The Laconia Daily Sun. In the article entitled "State's principal of the year gets mixed grades at home," is mentioned that some people in high ranking positions did not want Holden to receive the Principal of the Year award that he received. It also mentions about how his future employment at the school is questionable.
"The reason school board members may be focused on Holden's High School Principal of the Year award is that some of them apparently have issues with Holden's leadership - and it will be difficult to dismiss someone who'd just been given a prestigious honor." The article mentioned.
"'There are a lot of things the board is concerned about,' one board member, who asked not to be identified confirmed. Those concerns include everything from academics to Holden's behavior towards some students - although there is no suggestion that behavior might in anyway be considered criminal, the member stressed." Also mentioned in the article.
Some students are urging fellow peers to attend the JMA school board meeting tomorrow night, at 6:00pm at the High School. Hopefully this whole issue will be clarified a bit better.
