CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –
Seventeen top athletes from
the Manchester Swim Team
competed at the New England
Long Course Regional at
MIT in Cambridge, July 9 to
11. Seven swimmers placed
in the top 10 of their events.
On her way to the open
championship at Harvard,
Kelsey Ewing of Bedford took
four top-three spots at regionals.
She was second in the 15-
and-over 400-meter freestyle
and 400 individual medley
(IM), and third in the 200 free
and IM events. She was also
fifth in the 100-meter butterfly
and 100-meter backstroke,
sixth in the 200 fly, eighth in
the 50 free, and 10th in the
100-meter breaststroke.
Riley Ewing of Bedford
was second in the 13- and 14-
year-old male 100 back, third
in the 200 back, and sixth in
the 400 free.
Christina Denbow placed
second in the 200 breaststroke,
fourth in the 100
breaststroke and sixth in the
200 IM.
Kathleen Bolton set a
personal record (PR) while
finishing fourth in the 200
breaststroke. She was also
sixth in the 100 breaststroke.
Matt Bolton was fourth in
the 200 back and sixth in the
200 IM and 400 free, setting a
PR by more than 20 seconds.
He also took seventh in the
200 breaststroke and ninth in
the 100 back.
Zachary Denbow placed
eighth in the 200 breaststroke
with a PR of more than 12
seconds.
Olivia Wons of Bedford
swam to a PR in the 100 back
to place ninth in a very competitive
field.
Noelle Theodoulou was
eighth in the 50 fly, also setting
a PR.
