The Bedford High School Principal Search Committee has narrowed the field of candidates to fill the position to replace currect Principal George Edwards, who will be leaving in June.
The two candidates are: Katherine Dawe has served as the assistant principal for Triton Regional High School since 2000. Prior to that Dawe was a mathematics teacher in the Methuen, Mass., school system.
She earned her master’s degree in school administration from Salem State College in 1989 and is currently working on her doctorate in school administration.
Stephen Donovan, served as the principal of Acton-Boxborough Regional High School from 1991 to 2008. Prior to that, he was the director of Pupil Services for the Acton-Boxborough Regional School District from 1984-91, and coordinator of special education for that district from 1982-84.
He earned both his bachelor’s degree in education in 1971 and his master’s degree in administration in 1978 from Boston College.
The Search Committee will visit Triton Regional High School and Acton-Boxborough Regional High School the week of March 30.
The two candidates will visit Bedford High School the week of April 6, at which time they will meet with students, parents, faculty, staff and members of the community.
The Bedford School Board anticipates a decision on this position by mid-May.
