A Bedford man was killed when he apparently crashed his car into a tree near the intersection of Wallace Road and Magazine Street.
Police responded to a 911 call from a witness to the accident on Saturday, Aug. 2 at about 2 p.m.
Daniel Komisarek, 39, whose address is listed as 424 Route 101 in Bedford, was found dead at the scene of the accident. He was the only occupant in the white 1993 Oldsmobile he was driving.
Sgt. Gary Norton of the Bedford Police Department is heading up the accident investigation, and said it does not seem likely Komisarek was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Norton said Komisarek appeared to be traveling northbound on Wallace Road when the accident occurred. Speed was a factor in the crash, Norton said, but it is still unknown whether alcohol was involved.
“There’s going to be an indepth investigation because it was a fatality,” said Norton. “It can take up to a couple of months.”
Norton said he could not comment on the extent and nature of Komisarek’s injuries, and could also not say whether emergency crews had to use an extrication device to get Komisarek out of the vehicle.
There were multiple witnesses to the accident, Norton said. No information on the nature of the crash is being released at this time.
Komisarek was a professor of math and physics at New Hampshire Community Technical College.
Police are asking anyone with information about Komisarek’s death or who may have witnessed the accident to call the Bedford Police Department at 472-5113.
