Bedford planners will review a conceptual site plan to build a shopping center and a restaurant on South River Road.
The Bedford Planning Board is scheduled to hear the conceptual plan at its Monday, Sept. 11, meeting at 7 p.m., at Bedford Meeting Room, at the BCTV Studios, 10 Meetinghouse Road.
The plan calls for a 30,000-square-foot retail building, a 3,480-square-foot fast-food restaurant and a 12,400-square-foot retail building with a drive-through coffee shop.
The applicant, 11 South River Road LLC and West Street Keene LLC, is also asking for a lot line adjustment between an existing house and a vacant lot.
The property would be located on South River Road, across from the Bedford Highlands complex, which houses Target, Lowe’s, Applebee’s Neighborhood Bar and Grill, and Bugaboo Creek. The site is located withing the town’s performance zone.
The conceptual application was submitted on Aug. 16, and the three incorporated lots take up a total of 16.34 acres. Town Planning Director Karen White said, however, the entire parcel may not be used.
Although Jeff Kavan, project manager of the TF Moran engineering firm, has not yet revealed which businesses are expected to occupy the site, the proposal will be discussed at the the planning board’s meeting.
“There’s really nothing firm as far as users of this site are concerned,” said Kavan. “Our main objective is to get in there and talk about what possible issues we’re going to have, traffic concerns and things of that nature.”
There is currently no timeline on the proposal.
